From the humble beginnings in our owner’s home office to the warehouse of knowledge we have now, Nifty Marketing has been about one thing: Personality. We believe that the only way to achieve greatness online is through hard work driven by unique personalities.
In fact, every morning we get together to chant the following (with the obligatory patriotic music playing resolutely in the background): We believe in fighting for quality, uniqueness, and the Nifty way!
Needless to say, we’ve got some pretty awesome personalities working for us. We’d like to introduce them to you.
Mike is an active guest speaker at many Internet marketing events such as SMX, Pubcon, and SearchFest. He has been quoted and featured on Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal, SEOmoz, and many other leading internet marketing news sites.
Outside of search, Mike also moonlights as the owner of The Voice, which is a weekly newspaper in Southern Idaho that is delivered to 18,000 households. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University – Idaho and has a wonderful wife named Hillary, a rascal of a growing boy, a beautiful little girl, and a brand new baby girl.
He has spent the last 10 years helping businesses succeed in their unique markets. He worked in a number of traditional marketing fields before deciding that his talent was best served helping businesses go from zero web presence to ruling their online niche. He has his degree in graphic design and enjoys analyzing what is happening with a client’s site and developing a plan of how we can make it better.
When not pouring over analytics (he is Google Analytics Certified) or a recent citation report, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and creating amazing cutouts on his vinyl plotter.
Lance also owned Sweet Trepasses, a successful popcorn business. He has taught Accounting, Budgeting, Website Design, and Social Networking at the College of Southern Idaho and directed the University of Idaho’s After-school Program, where he developed the curriculum, grew the program from a few kids to overflowing, and oversaw daily operations. Lance has worked as a product description writer for Amazon and was quality assurance for a major internet company. He also is Google Analytics Certified and he’s fluent in Portuguese.
Lance’s favorite things are reading to his two wonderful kids, Chad and Kaylee, and playing video games with his wife, Becca.
Dax is an entrepreneur at heart. While at Utah State, he operated his own T-shirt business and started a dorm recycling service that spread across the entire campus. Dax currently runs a successful iPhone repair business.
In his personal life, he is a married to an amazing woman, Melissa, and has a brillant little son, Nixon. Dax is a professional clogger, an Eagle Scout, and enjoys riding dirt bikes and skiing. He, also, is fluent in Portuguese, after serving the people of Brazil for two years.
Betsy is a determined person. Before working at Nifty, she was a hospice nurse who was devoted to the care and well being of her clients. She has brought that sense of care into her work here at Nifty. Betsy enjoys watching the Office with her kids and giving back to her community.
Kurt is a published author and ghost writer, having written a wildly successful relationship book as his most recent accomplishment. He also has his BA in performance Violin. When not searching for the perfect word, Kurt enjoys watching old black and white movies and connecting with his 10 children and 6 grandchildren.
Chad is passionate about helping businesses grow and becoming dominant in their niches — a natural fit here at Nifty. He knows how to approach any problem and, with his infectious personality, find the best solution that makes the most business sense for our clients.
When Chad isn’t strategizing and helping clients find epic solutions – you can find him hanging out with his 3 kids and beautiful wife, fly fishing, and reading up on gadgetry.
Jami graduated from BYU-Idaho with her Associates in Photography and her Bachelors in Applied Business Management. After college, Jami moved to Logan Utah where she worked with a film production company creating everything from motion graphics to still photos. When we played Desert Island with her, Jami asked if she could just take her Apple T.V.
If she’s not listening to top hits on Spotify or watching reruns of House, Jami enjoys cooking and tackling DIY projects.
She studied Interior Design at Utah State while working full time at a landscaping company. She also is a killer trumpet, bass drum, and gong player. She has starred in commercials for big brands and knows how to work a conversation so you always walk away feeling like you just had tea with a friend instead of talking about work.
She keeps a mini-gong in her purse just incase she ever needs to announce her awesomeness to the world. When she isn’t doing outreach, McKenzie enjoys watching Modern Family and swimming in her bathtub, even though she always afraid a shark is lurking just below the drain.
She interned with us at the beginning of this year. She impressed us so much with her quick learning ability and attitude that we knew we wanted to hire her straight out of high school. So she graduated and came to work with us.
When she’s not helping clients rank or riding her bike everywhere to help save the planet, Taylor enjoys clogging. She recently returned from a clogging trip to Turkey and is the main dancer in our weekly “Dance With The Stars” office competition.
She always wins.
She has spent the last 6 years as a SEO Strategist working specifically with lawyers and attorneys helping them to rank in their unique practice areas. She has been doing search engine optimization since 2006 and has worked in multiple businesses areas helping them to grow and market their brand online.
One of Susan’s greatest strength is building strong relationships with her clients and truly understanding their needs. She is a self-described “SEO SPAZ”, and when she’s not digging into analytics and strategizing, Susan enjoys spending time with her amazing and tolerant husband, Bob and two incredible children, Hayden and Ryleigh.
He went to college for a computer science degree and then realized that was too stereotypical, so he did a complete 180 and got his degree in marketing. However, he finds what he learned from his computer science classes and his marketing classes play very well together as he is able to create interesting solutions to our client’s problems.
We would compare him to Shakespeare, but Shakespeare didn’t code websites.
Devin spent some time in France as a public relations intern and did some freelance work on the side under the pseudonym MonsieurHarper. He also fulfilled a life-long dream of living in Alaska where he worked as a tour guide. Protip: unique content earns you loads of tips! He also worked for a Canadian SEO company and has extensive experience with agency work.
His connections, experience and communication skills make him an outreach master. When he’s away from his computer, he watches Breaking Bad and is known to own people in COD.
On a more serious note, Jace is excellent with people. He can strike up a conversation with everyone and by the time the conversation is over, he’s been invited to their daughters wedding. That’s how personable he is. His other skills include being very detail oriented and having a great sense of humor.
When he’s not making friends over the phone or helping a client achieve better results, Jace enjoys spending his time on the golf course, baiting a line, spending time with his cat, Ladybird, and relaxing with a lovely evening of total noob domination in Battlefield 4.
Eriks was born with an air of confidence about him. He has always known his goal and gone after it. He got his degree in Public Relations from Boise State University. After that he moved to Palo Alto working with a start up as their Public Relations Manager.
He moved back to Boise to work for a well-known marketing company working with a lot of big clients doing their Local PPC campaigns. Two and half years later, Eriks joined the Nifty team to add his expertise to our Paid Advertising services.
From the moment of his birth to this very day people confuse Eriks with Perkunas, the Latvian God of Thunder (we think its because of his soulful eyes). He refers to himself as an amateur explorer and enjoys getting lost in corn mazes with his fiancée Liz.
